What is the PEO Scarborough Chapter ?

The Scarborough chapter is one of the largest PEO chapters; it has 2,541 members ! It covers the areas with postalcodes beginning with M 1, B C E G H J K L M N P R S T V W.  It belongs to the PEO's East Central region.

Goals of the Scarborough Chapter

• To inform engineers of new technologies and techniques relevant to all disciplines through tours and seminars
• To solicit the engineers opinion on what the chapter can do for them
• To help engineers to a better career through seminars and workshops
• To promote Engineering in the schools, universities and the community
• To provide means for engineers to meet and network
• To create a community environment by organizing social gatherings for engineers and their families
• To create a sense of pride in every engineer

Who are the Chapter Executives ?

The Scarborough chapter executive members are professional engineers like you who decided to get involved.  They are volunteers and receive no reward for the work they do (other than bragging rights and beers);  They just like Engineering so much that they want to promote it in schools, universities and their communities.  They not only like Engineering, but they also like to surround themselves with other engineers which is why they like to organize social events to meet other engineers and their families.  Like all engineers, they want to know everything so they are always trying to organize tours and seminars to places they find interesting.

They want to be doing more ! like help themselves and other engineers find better career opportunities.  They also want to be on top of things in their field looking out for new technologies, methodologies and techniques.  They want to be involved in the community doing fundraising and participating in charity walks.  They mainly want to feel better about themselves and feel proud to belong to the professional engineering community.

But, there's only 11 of them, including myself.  Did I mention they are just as busy as you are and maybe more (heck it's 2am when I'm writing this) ? well they are.  So If you think you share our goals or you want to make a change, contact us and give us a hand.  We don't need money, we don't a lot of time, we just need initiative !
