Aspiring Engineering Scholarship 2010
Professional Engineers Ontario Scarborough Chapter is pleased to announce the availability of two scholarships (for one male and one female student), each worth $500, to promote engineering within the Scarborough community.
PEO Scarborough Chapter would like to invite applicants who are currently in Grade 12 in a Scarborough region high school, and will be entering a Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CESB) approved Ontario University Engineering program in September 2010.
Eligible applicants will be initially evaluated on their academic performance, involvement in extracurricular and leadership activates, and a short written essay. Eight applicants will be selected through this process and invited to be interviewed by a panel of engineers. The final two award winners will be selected from the applicants interviewed. Consolation awards will also be awarded to selected interviewees.
To qualify for initial evaluation, each applicant MUST fulfil the following requirements:
-Answer the four questions listed in the application form
-Provide a copy of their high school transcript submitted to OUAC (electronic/scanned version sent through email)
-Provide two references (one must be from a Grade 12 teacher)
-Provide an electronic copy of their signed university acceptance letter
Eligible applicants must complete and email this application form with all supporting documents to scholarship@peoscarborough.ca by June 30, 2010.
